The Perfect Weight Loss Food All Year Round

Pumpkin is not only great in October and November- it’s the perfect weight loss food all year round. It’s tightly associated with the holidays, but pumpkin is high in Vitamin and and fiber and can really fill you up as a sweet snack without the guilt.

I grew up in Italy and watched my aunt and mother getting dressed to go to the market in there clicking heels they chose fresh seasonal ingredients for all the ingredients home to make the rules as a registered dietitian I know that true Italian food is the healthiest but i also know it’s how they lived and how they eat their food too how can a busy New Yorker live in Italian I will show you how and I’ll show out but all is style this is living in a child fiorella and today we’re going to make my vehicle thiele soup ha ok and this is pumpkin and I remember going to Naples in my aunt graziella made a great recipe with using this and was so beautiful and it was so colorful I was inspired by her recipe now we’re not going to exactly do it like her I’m actually going to make it with pesto so this is how we’re going to start we’re going to go ahead and get a pan and you’re going to heat it to a medium heat and start with a little olive oil in then we’re going to add some fresh garlic and just happen saute a bit in there now the beauty of pumpkins we’re using a call of ASAP pumpkin you can also use a sugar pumpkin to cook and what this particular pumpkin has is that it’s very high in vitamin a and beta carotene what is not commonly known is that it has a lot of potassium as well it’s actually chock-full testing a lot more than even an avocado and banana so it’s really really great for you now because it has a fat-soluble vitamin it which is like a it is great to use the olive oil in the recipe as well as the pesto to enhance the absorption of the fat-soluble vitamin so here we are and we’re starting to smell the garlic rose and it’s just great and the garlic has antimicrobial properties and we’re going to go ahead and add the cut up pumpkin and we cut it up in kind of very very similar shapes and sizes so they cook very evenly going to go ahead and just put that in my pan and give a kiss to Sophie up because she cooks with me and I know she would love this recipe too so we’re going to go ahead and saute it a bit in the pan just move around so it starts to absorb all other flavors of the garlic we’re going to add some beautiful sweet salt to it well just to lighten up the flavors I remember one of the things that you can do with this too is you can ask them send them in and since you can do this as well and becomes a really really sweet type of a side dish rather than a more savory one like we’re doing today now as this cook i’m going to show you my little mason jar of my homemade pesto now if you want the recipe to this you could go off to my website and I have a secret ingredient in here and the pesto is really really amazing very easy to do it has about five ingredients the way you like to do it italian style and i have squeezed some lemon juice in it to keep the green color of the pesto as soon as you make it and put it in the mason jar just covers and air tight white and it keeps the color and you can stay in your refrigerator for up to seven to eight days so this is a great product that you could use and i should say you should have any refrigerator at all times to add to your protein to your vegetables to your salad pesto sauce is really really really chock full of flavor and you can use it all the time now i’m going to go ahead and add that to my there we go and you just want to kind of take a couple of balance of that it’s not the place just enhancing the flavor it’s just giving it a little bit of a condiment type texture of the close to completely covering it in sauce so it’s just taking some of the flavors around there I’m going to do is show you how to present this now you can use the set aside with any of your dishes you can actually put this on top of a warm spinach salad which would also be really really amazing but I’m going to show you how to make it on Abby’s get up one of the things that we Italians love to do is entertain and now that we’re coming up into entertaining holiday season I would like to show you how to turn this beautiful pumpkin festive pumpkin into a group skepta that you can give it a cocktail party and a dinner party so we’re going to go ahead and get some crusty whole grain bread and we’re just going to get it warm and we’re going to go ahead and put this right on the blue sky stock and your guests are going to love this because it’s a veggie friendly easy to eat and delicious savory too and now the the pumpkin is getting this or just fold in sides to it so give us some crispy edges and the heat is actually enhancing all other flavors of the pesto as well so this is my incredibly healthy easy way to make a pumpkin pesto fiesta.
